Casa El Barranco
A historic house with a private pool in the quiet village of Los Valles – just a 5-minute drive from Teguise, the old capital city of Lanzarote.
The wooden ceiling and wonderfully thick walls not only give the house a rustic feel, but also ensure a comfortable temperature all year round.
Through the main entrance of the cottage, you enter the hallway. To the right, you have the spacious master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. On the left is the living and dining area with tasteful and high-quality furniture. An elegant wooden staircase leads to the cosy bedroom on the upper floor. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with a sitting area and a rustic-looking bathroom with a skylight and a shower.
Across the cosy courtyard you have the third bedroom which also has an ensuite bathroom.
Right next to the house there is a private pool (8x4m) surrounded by a beautiful garden which invites you to relax and unwind. The pool has a thermal cover and a heat pump, which keeps the water at a comfortable temperature even on colder days.
What’s more, there’s an outdoor shower, sun loungers, an alarm system, a smart TV, fast fiber optic internet and private parking.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. We had a few issues during our stay but the hosts ensured these were fixed within a timely manner. The house is beautiful and extremely spacious. It felt safe with two young children. I didn’t know one of the bedrooms is only accessed via the outdoor courtyard - just something to bear in mind if you plan to use for children. The location is good, car required but an easy drive. Teguise is lovely and you are not far from the coast. Thank you for a great stay!

This traditional Lanzarote home was peaceful and well located to explore the cultural destinations on the island, e.g. Jameos del Agua, the Cesar Manrique Foundation, Las Volcanes park, etc. We also enjoyed the seaside towns along the coast. The place was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable! It was a bit cool for swimming and the pool was struggling to stay warm enough but we can't control the weather. We are a family of five and the living room area was a bit cramped to sit all together. I might recommend eliminating the dining room (the kitchen was plenty for family meals) and making the dining space into a bigger seating area for hanging out. A family game like foosball or ping pong would also have been a nice diversion. Otherwise we very much enjoyed our stay in Teguise to get a better feel for authentic Lanzarote. Afterwards we stayed in Playa Blanca and the tourism there was overwhelming and a bit too carnival-like for us.
Lanzarote
Lanzarote forms the northeasternmost outpost of the Canarian archipelago. Only about 11 km to the south of Lanzarote is the Canary Island of Fuerteventura. To the north lie the small islands of the Chinijo Archipelago: La Craciosa, Montanña Clara, Alegranza, Roque del Oeste, and Roque del Este.
All of these belong to Lanzarote and are, with the exception of La Graciosa, uninhabited. Up until very recently, La Graciosa could not even obtain the status of an island.
Lanzarote has over 213 km of coastline, of which 10 km are sandy and 16 km are rocky beaches. The island’s natural bounty is incomparable, and was recognized by UNESCO when it designated Lanzarote, the first island of its kind, a biosphere reserve in 1993.
