We had an excellent stay at Casa Piccola Stella and would highly recommend this house. The house is very comfortable and easy to live in, with everything you need to enjoy your stay. It has a beautiful view and offers wonderful facilities, including a swimming pool, barbecue and billiard table. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor areas and the peaceful surroundings. We also really appreciated the warm welcome from Iván and Deborah. They are kind, attentive and always available to answer questions or help with anything you may need. We also appreciated their recommendations and thoughtful touches throughout our stay. We felt very comfortable in the house and truly enjoyed our time in La Palma. Thank you again, Iván and Deborah, for your warm welcome. We would be very happy to return to Casa Piccola Stella if we have the opportunity to visit La Palma again!

ENGLISH: I spent a week here in July, on my own, and I wish I could have stayed longer. It is a privilge to stay in such a great house is such an amazing location. On entering it the first day, the first impressions were jawdropping. The photos of the house are great but do not do it justice. In person, the sense of isolation and the massive views are much more impactful. The house has everything you need. I just used the basics (kettle and toaster!) but anything you think you may need is there and in excellent condition. I did not use the outside barbecue area but when I return (I will definitely return) I will definitely try it. Everything felt pretty high-end in terms of quality and just made me want to take extra care of the place. In the garden/pool/bbq area was super clean and was just a pleasure to wake up to each day. The pool was a delight to have, and being able to take a dip as the sun is setting,...... the views are simply amazing, The sky/weather can change a lot in La Palma and since you have such huge panoramic views from both inside and outside the house you can really appreciate it at all moments of the day. You feel very isolated, which is what I wanted, but in reality you are very close to the town Tijarafe which has bars and supermarkets. It is up a very steep slope but in the car it takes about 2 minutes from the house, and one morning I walked it, it was pretty accessible. I could go on for ages trying to explain how great the house / grounds and overall location are but really I think it is enough to say that if you are thinking of visiting La Palma, have access to a car and want a lovely place to stay in, and the photos here appeal to you, then without a doubt I recommend this place. It exceeded my expectations, and I fully intend to return next year! In terms of booking and managing the booking, Canary Company were very fast to respond to my questions over the months before the holiday, always helpful, and once the arrival day had almost come I was put in direct contact with the owner of the house. He welcomed me on the first day, saw me off on my last day, both times in person, and kept in touch during the stay. He was a really helpful and friendly guy, a pleasure to deal with. Being on my own for the week, it was good to know you had someone like this on hand in case of any problems. Having such a positive experience with this booking aspect of the holiday makes one want to return even more, to be honest. UK readers: you really should visit this island!

The island of La Palma offers breathtaking landscapes, remote beaches, imposing volcanoes, dense forests and incomparably starry skies.
With its 708 square kilometres, an elevation of 2.426m and its shape of a heart it is the most Western island of the Canary Island chain. Like every island in this archipelago, La Palma was created by volcanic activity. It is one of the youngest of the seven islands, dating back some 1.7 million years. The volcanic origin of La Palma is still clearly recognizable today, especially the southern part of the island with the dormant volcano Teneguía which last erupted in 1971, and offers interesting insights into its geological past.
The year-round mild climate with average temperatures between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius produce spring-summerlike weather as a result of the northeast trade winds.
This weather phenomenon is responsible for a pleasant subtropical climate and a rich green vegetation that prevails because of the humidity carried along in the trade winds. These moisture rich winds at certain times of the year also create a spectacular waterfall of clouds cascading down the central mountain faces and hence the nicknames Isla Verde – Green Island and Isla Bonita – Beautiful Island.
The unique geological structure of the island with its variety of vegetation zones and microclimates that are rarely found in the world on such a small area make this island a miniature universe. Each area of the island varies completely from another. In 1983 La Palma was declared a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
Another special feature of La Palma is the unique night sky. Due to its location in the Atlantic Ocean, sparse population, minimum light pollution and highest mountain peak Roque de los Muchachos 2.426m, the island was chosen as the location for one of the largest and modern observatories in the world.
The official population of the island is approximately 80,000 people. Traditional festivals such as the Bajada de la Virgen or Los Indianos carnival, famous far beyond the island’s borders, bear witness to the zest for life of the local people (Palmeros). Not only the geographical location, but also the numerous immigrants from Central and South America show a variety of Hispanic influences in island life, cuisine and cultural.
